Not just cousins

Ellie and Carson are about as close and cousins can be. They truly love each other and really enjoy being together. While watching them play the other day I came to the realization that they aren't just cousins. Carson is like a big brother to her. Ellie wanted to swing and climb in and tried to buckle herself in. Carson saw this and without being asked by her or anyone else went over and started helping her. With all the patience Ellie requires (which is more than I have) he help her get buckled in. He didn't just do it for her he helped her do it. I fully expected to see him then walk away. He didn't he then stood off to the side of the swing and pushed her. He stayed there with her the whole time and pushed her. When she decided she was done he tried to help her get out. He couldn't do it so he asked someone who could to help her. It was such a sweet and tender moment to see how he cares for her and almost brought a tear to my eye. She is truly lucky to have such a loving cousin who I know will always be there to give a push whenever she needs wether she asks for it or not.

Chunky Monkey

Lexie is now weighing in a whopping 9 pounds even! She is so short that all those 9 pounds make her look chunky. She has three rolls on her thighs and double chin. Last night during her bath I kept calling her my chunky monkey and every time I said it she smiled and laughed. I'm am really loving having a baby again. With Ellie I was in such a rush for the next milestone to happen and thought that she was rather boring at 4 months old. I learned my lesson they grow to fast and pretty soon my baby will be a toddler. So for now I'm going to take time to enjoy each laugh, smile and coo. I will cherish this time with my sweet fat little girl. So in the middle of a crying fit, I'll take a breathe and be grateful that she still needs me to meet her needs. I'll hold her a little more often and hug just a little tighter and never forget how lucky I am to even have her!

Feeling hot, hot, hot

With the recent change in the weather Ellie has discovered a new favorite place to be, outside. She is now completly in love with playing soccer and riding her bike. Everyday she asks if she can go to Nanny and Poppy's (my parents) house to ride her bike. Since it was well into the 80's we decided to let her swim while she was there. Her cousins Carson and Abby wre over and for awhile Ellie and Carson swam, rode bikes, and swung. Uncle Mike then came up with a great idea to put the slide into the pool. Since Ellie is a daredevil who has no fear she jumped right on. It seemed like forever that the two of them with Poppy's help climb up and the slide and went into the pool. Ellie was a little to eager and never got herself completly on the slide before she let go. This resulted in her sliding every which way and crashing into the pool much to her enjoyment. It is so fun to see my little girl discovering new things she enjoys. The look on her face as she played that day was one I will not soon forget.
