Slip n Slide

The girls got a slipe n slide today. Although it was not really warm enough to use it they had to give it a try. They are quite funny on it since neither one of them actually gets the concept of sliding on their tummy. I guess sliding on your knees and you butt works too.

Something's missing!

The girls had a dentist appointment today and we came home missing a tooth. Ellie had two loose teeth, but one of them was in need of some help coming out. Her permanent tooth was already coming in behind the baby tooth and it was starting to cause her some pain. She was prepared and ready for the dentist to pull it out. When we got home she ran right upstairs to look in the mirror. She came down the stairs and I asked her what she thought. Her response was, "Not great, not great at all." She did a great job and I was proud of her for being so brave.

Lexie couldn't be left out of the picture taking. She's showing off her clean teeth and dirty hands.
Her dentist talked to her about how she needs to not use a binky anymore (trust me I know she is WAY to old to still have it) She has only been using it to fall asleep and we even cut the tip so it wouldn't suck anymore. This girl is so stubborn she didn't care if it worked or not. On the way home she told me we could get rid of it. She walked upstairs found the last one she has a gave it to me. Now I just have to be tough and not give in to giving it back. Hopefully she will be able to fall asleep without it.

Graduation Girl

Eliana had her preschool graduation last week. She was so excited to go and recite her poems and sing her songs. I think when we got there she was a little embarrassed to be up in front of people. It's funny to me to see how a different side of her personality came out when she was in front of the group. Normally she is loud and not shy. But put her front of a group of people and she gets stage fright. She did a great job and was cute to watch. We are so proud of her and the progress she made this year. She went into the school year not knowing any letters, sounds, and couldn't write her name. She can now do all those things (which I know is not by any means advanced for an almost 5 year old. But it is a huge improvement for her.) She also starting to sound words out and tell us how things are spelled. I'm just glad she is right on track where she should be and so far isn't showing any signs of learning disabilities which has been a concern of ours with her being a preemie.
