Christmas Day

These wonderful girls blessed us with sleeping in till 8 on Christmas morning. What I wonderful treat! The excitedly made their way downstairs to open presents. Lila was not at all interested. She found her vacuum as soon as she got downstairs and only wanted to walk around vacuuming. Everyone was thrilled with their gifts. Alexis and Eliana both wanted American Girl dolls, but not the real ones. They wanted ones from Target. Eliana also got a remote control car for her littlest pet shop. Alexis got a Hello Kitty karaoke and CD player, which at times I am now regretting buying :) Lila got a ride on toy and a doll. After hanging out at home and playing with our new toys we headed to my parents house. Everyone got exactly what they were wanting and we had some very excited kiddos. While we opened present all Lila wanted to do was eat a candy cane off the tree. She was sitting with my Dad and when she finished opening a gift she would bring it over to the ottoman and push across to me. Alexis and Eliana both had their hearts set on certain things they wanted. They were a little disappointed when Santa didn't bring those items. They were SO excited when those things turned out to be what nanny and Poppy got them. Elianas was a Barbie wardrobe and Alexis was a barbie Princess and the Popstar guitar.

Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve we celebrated with Nicks family. We had the traditional Clam chowder dinner, which was delicious. The girls enjoyed opening their gifts, although it is hard to tell by the pictures. Eliana and Alexis both got dream lights, they were thrilled. Lila was funny opening her gifts. She tore off the tiniest pieces of wrapping paper and then would hand them to me. She got a Minnie Mouse vaccuum and a little people princess castle. I will have to admit the princess castle is so cool, I may have played with it after we put it together. To say she loves her new toys is an understatement. The older girls all got matching jewelry boxes, which have also been a hit at our house. The had a great time I were upset when the night was over. Watching the excitement in my girls faces as they open presents is all I need for the holidays. It"s was one of favorite parts about being a parent. (the pictures aren't great, it is so hard to get good pictures of kids opening presents)

Halloween

Better late then never right? The girls loved Halloween this year! Especially since they had awesome costumes, thanks Mom! Alexis decided back in May I think that she wanted to be Dorothy. Then Eliana decided to be the wicked witch. They looked so cute! Lila didn't so much enjoy trick or treating, but did love eating the candy.

Preschool

Alexis started her second year of preschool thgis year. Excited doesn't even begin to explain how she felt. For weeks she asked everyday how many days until school starts. She loves her teacher and her friends. She is learning a ton and amazes me constantly with how much she knows.

First Grade!

As you can tell Eliana was very excited for teh first day of school. She couldn't wait to get there and see all her friends. I do have to admit I really missed her that first day. The school day is pretty long. We eargerly awaited her bus which of course was late, she got off with a huge smile on her face and told us about how much she loved school. We are about a month in now and she is still loving it. She is doing so well and we are so proud of her!

Beach Days

August re-cap
We got the family together to spend a day at the beach. The weather had been beautiful and HOT all week long. I don't even think it broke 70 this day. Oh well the kids didn't seem to mind that it was a little chilly. They dug in the sand, built castles, tossed around a football and flew kites.

While Nick was out of town for the weekend and my Dad was working my Mom and I took the girls to Dash Point. I'm not really an outdoorsy type of girl, so we hadn't been yet for the Summer. The thought of having to deal with Lila around sand and a large body of water didn't sound to appealing to me. Eliana and Alexis love the beach and were so excited to go and fly their kites again. We were there for a few hours and I don't think Ellie did much other than fly her kite. I put Lila down in the sand and she was off exploring. I think she walked around the beach for about 45 mins. Every once and a while she would fall down, typically in the stream. She picked up some clam shells and tried to eat them, dug with a shovel a bit and ate plenty of handfuls of sand. Alexis happily sat out in the sand with several buckets and shovels and dug. This girl loves to sit and dig. Overall it was a wonderful outing.
