Happy Birthday

Happy birthday my sweet little Ellie. It's hard to believe that its already been two years since our life was turned upside down and changed forever. In classic Ellie fashion your birth was a whirlwind and my life became all about you. You have been a fighter and such a brave little girl over the last two years. You are full of energy and the center of my world. You came into this world and immediately everyone who saw you fell in love with you. You have a huge personality for such a little girl and are full of opinions. You are stubborn, sweet, sneaky, loving, silly and compasionate. My world revolves around you and wouldn't change that for anything! I love my sweet sweet little girl. Happy second birthday.

All Tutus Should Be Pink

With Ellie's birthday approaching she is getting more and more excited to get the mail. There have been things for her lately and she can't wait to open them. Since I'm a complete pushover I don't make her wait till her birthday. Today she got a package from her cousin Kenidee. She tore it open and found inside a book, "All Tutus Should Be Pink" and a pink tutu. Of course she put it on right away although she doesn't yet know what a tutu is. It was so cute! Thanks Stephanie!

I think someone should inform her that ballarinas don't wear rain boot swith their tutus!

Helmet Head

After much searching we finally were able to find a helmet that would fit Ellie's little head. She rides her bike like a crtazy woman and it is only a matter of time before she has a big crash. She was fitted for her helmet and was excited to show it off. She wore it in the car and around the house. When it came time to ride her bike she wouldn't wear it! I guess we need to work on that. She looks so silly in it since it seems as big as her.

"Tooties"

I decided to bake some cookies today, or "tooties" as Ellie calls them. She loves to "cook cook". Today I didn't want it to take forever to finish so I didn't let her help. She got really upset and crying, tears and all. I gave her the paddle to lick after I was finished. That really is the only part she really likes. She makes a huge mess of herself and absolutely loves it. As soon as the buzzer goes off she starts asking for a "tootie". I'm not sure what I was thinking but I gave her a bath before giving her a cookie. Oh well! I love watching her do simple things like eating a cookie. I love to see how excited she gets over it.

What you can't see in these pictures is the chocolate that is in her ear, on her neck, and in her hair. How is possible to make such a mess with a cookie you ask? She was picking out the melted chocolate chips, then apparently her ear itched beacuse she stuck a finger in it. I'm still unsure about how it got on the back of her neck. She's so funny about having her face and hands dirty she kept stopping and wiping her hands and face with a baby wipe.

Sporting some shades

I couldn't resist myself today when I found some sunglasses on sale. I bought a pair for Ellie and Lexie. You could say Lexie wasn't so happy about having them on.

Photobucket
She is still darn cute in them even if she is screaming.

She's a scholar

My Lexie rolled over today! I can't believe it. At first I thought it was just a fluke. Then she did it again. All together she did it 5 times in a row and then got mad. She's so small to be rolling over. I caught a little of it on camera. I'm so proud of her!

Random thoughts

Ok so maybe these aren't random thoughts just random pictures. I never pass up a chance to share photos of my girls. Here's so pics I've taken over the last week.
Photobucket
Ellie is starting to potty train. This is the face she makes when she doesn't need to go but still tries.
Photobucket
My sweet Lexie all ready for church. It isn't often that I get a pic of her looking at the camera and smiling. Notice that the front of her dres is all wet. Her clothing goes into her mouth now so she is always wet.
Photobucket
How can you not love that face? How my "sweet" girl looks when she is not being held.
Photobucket
I put Lexie in her bed for just a minute so I could do something. I came back into the room and this is what I found.
Photobucket
Doesn't this one speak for itself?
Photobucket
I can't get enough of this smile. Lexie loves to take a bath, but she doesn't love getting out and getting dressed.

This is how I find Ellie and Nick every morning. She loves to lay with Daddy and watch cartoons.

Daddy does it better

Sometimes I find myslef starring at my husband in disbelief. Did her really just get her to do that? For some reason everything Daddy does is better than Mommy. He can get our girls to do everything I can't! A few examples. Every night I rock Lexie to sleep, lie her down and she almost immediately opens her eyes and begins screaming. Nick doesn't rock her, she falls asleep in his arms he puts her to bed and she doesn't wake up. Not a sound out of her. When Ellie needs a time out he points to a spot on the carpet tells her to sit there and don't move. She sits and doesn't move until her time out is over (which by the way is usually for hitting me). If I tell her to sit for time out she won't. I have to hold her or put her in her bed. If Ellie wakes up at night she doesn't want me, she wants Daddy. She will lay with him and eventually he will get her to go back to bed with no problem. If I try to put her back to bed she screams and won't go without a bottle. Both of our girls smiled first at Daddy. If you ask Ellie who loves her she won't miss a beat and answer Daddy. Everytime it never fails! I love that they repsond so well to them and couldn't be more greatful that I have him to help raise our children.

Nick is a wonderful father. Our girls are very lucky. He couldn't be a more loving Daddy. I love to watch him interact with Lexie. One day while I was feeding her he said goodbye to her and she stop nursing and turned her head to see him. It was sweet to see her respond to his vioce. These little girls have Daddy wrapped around their very tiny fingers. I don't think a little girl can love their Daddy more than Ellie and Lexie love Nick.

My little booger

While taking a bath today Ellie put what I thought was a piece of lint on my leg and said, "here mommy". As she picked it back up I asked" What is that Ellie?" She replied, "A booger". She then proceeded to put the booger back in her nose. She has gotten into the stage where she enjoys picking her nose. I know every child goes through this, I'm fine with that. It's grose and all but after telling her a million times that we don't pick our nose I know she'll eventually learn. She is the only child I know of that picks boogers out and then puts them back. That is there part that groses me out. I guess from now on I'll be a little more careful when she she says, "Here mommy."

Lexie is 4 months old!

I can't believe my baby is already 4 months old! She has changed a lot over the last few months. She stays awake for several hours at time now, she used to sleep all day long. She loves to sit up and stand. One of her favorite things is to talk to Daddy. He has the magic touch with our girls. They both love him. Lexie loves to coo and "talk" and Daddy speaks her language. It so sweet to watch. She went in for her check up and is now weighing 9lbs 13oz and is 20in. I don't know of any other parent who obsesses about their childs wieght like I do. We get excited about every ounce she gains. She had to get shots and honestly she took it like a champ. Ellie had a harder time than she did. She was very worried about Lexie and i had to console her while Lexie laid there crying. It took me second and then I thought, "Why am I consoling her and not Lexie who just got shots?" Ellie needed to be held where she could see Lexie and make sure she was really ok. She is such a little mom. It is the sweest thing. I didn't expect Ellie to have any reaction to Lexie crying. She knew by the sound of her cry that everything wasn't ok. and she had to check on her "tister". Lexie has gotten to be a much better baby as she's gotten older. I can finally put her down for awhile without her crying. Of course as soon as she falls asleep Ellie decides it's time for a kiss and wakes her up. She is becoming a fairly happy baby and sleeps wonderfully at night for 12 hours! I can't ask for much more than that. Now all we have to do is get her to start sleeping in a bed instead of her carseat. My goal is by the end of the summer to have both girls sleeping in the same room. We'll see how that goes.

A few of her favorite things

I've been thinking a lot lately about how much Ellie has grown and changed over the last year. As she approaches her 2nd birthday I now realize that she is not a baby. She has developed stong opinions, likes and dislikes. She had at least one very traumatic experience and had her life changed forever by becoming a big sister. Although there are certain things that we will never forget, such as her broken arm, many things will be forgotten from this last year. I was trying to figure out a way to remember some of the cute things that she has done, discovered and grown to love over the year. So I thought I would make a little list of Ellie's favorite things. I asked her some of these questions and I'm sure she doesn't fully comprehend what favorite means, she did give me some answers.
1. Favorite Food- Ronis (Macaroni-n-cheese)
2. Favorite Restaraunt- Teriyaki Wok (the only restaraunt she will eat anything at)
3. Favorite T.V. show- Little Ensteins (she loves the patting and saying blast off)
4. Favorite Character- Me Mouse (Mickey or Minnie, truly she is obsessed)
5. Favorite Movie- Finding Nemo ( She calls it Meno)
6. Favorite Snack- Bug Bites ( graham crackers in bug shapes)
7. Favoite color- pink and purple ( the only two colors she really knows)
8. Favorite book- Five Little Monkeys
9. Favorite song- Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
10. Favorite sport- Soccer ( she has a pink ball, of course)
11. Favorite past time- Riding her bike with Poppy (My Dad)
12. Favorite store- The pizza pretzel store ( aka Sams Club)
13. Favorite desert- Ice cream (thanks to Grandpa)
14. Favorite cereal- Jacks (apple jacks)
15. Favorite animal- Titty cat (obviously a cat)

I wish I could have everything recorded so I could relive it all. She is at such a wonderful age. She makes me laugh on a daily basis and has such a big presonality. She will say anything you ask her to and comes up with the funniest things on her own. Lately when you ask her a question she usually answers with, um. It is so cute. I also love when she doesn't know the answer to what you have asked she will say, "I don't know". She is very curious and often will ask, "What you got?" Much to my dismay she finds bodily functions hilarious. She will "toot", as we call it, and laugh very loudly then say "cuse me I toot." If she hears someone else do it she will say, "Daddy cuse me." She doesn't yet understand the difference between you and me. She is such a joy and has more energy than any child should be allowed. I love every minute of her, every tiring minute. If I could stop time and keep her little forever I think I just might.

One of her favorite things is her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse shirt. I hate it, I think it is ugly. But after her getting so excited and taking it off the rack every time she saw it at Target I bought it. Couldn't pass it up no matter how ugly I thought it was, it was only $1.48. I do love a good deal.

I have a confession

I am addicted to buying shoes! Not for myself though. I can't bring myself to pay much for shoes so when I find a great deal I have a hard time saying no. My obsession means Ellie has more shoes than any child needs. I find it especially hard to resist dress shoes. I was cleaning house today and finally noticed how many pairs of shoes my little girl has. I have passed on my love of shoes to her. She loves to pick out new shoes and then wants to wear them around the house all the time. Ocassionally I ecen let her pick ou ther own shoes to wear when we are going out. That is a big deal for me since I want everything on her to match. She usually surprises me and picks out the pair of shoes I would have picked. Today we went shopping and came home with of course a new pair. They were only $4.99. I love The Childrens Place. Granted she only has one dress they will match, but I guess that gives me an excuse to buy someting else that will match her shoes.

Her current favorite pairs, also only $4.99

And I have to add one of all her shoes

I do realize that this may be a really silly thing to write about. It is just one of the small things about having a girl that I absolutly love.
